Interest rate rises and cost-of-living pressures are a reality for many Australian households right now, but in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, buyers are pressing forward. The latest figures across Beerwah, Glass House Mountains and Landsborough show genuine demand remains and supply is low.
According to realestate.com.au, last month Beerwah recorded 27 homes available with 1,735 serious buyers registered, that’s more than 64 buyers for every listing, with an average of 35 days on market. Glass House Mountains saw 30 properties available attracting 1,872 buyers over 41 days, and Landsborough had just 12 homes on offer against 1,144 buyers, selling in an average of 34 days. All three suburbs now have a median house price exceeding $1,000,000, with Glass House Mountains leading at $1,200,000.
“Despite economic challenges, the desire to put down roots in the hinterland remains remarkably strong,” says Cassi Nuske of McGrath Beerwah. “The buyers we’re working with are thoughtful and determined. They’ve done their research, they understand property values in the area, and they’re committed to making it happen. This tells you a lot about the enduring appeal of this region and its communities.”
For those thinking about selling, this level of buyer activity is a real opportunity. For buyers, the message is clear: have your finance in order and be ready to act. Stock is limited, and well-priced homes are moving.
“Dual living and large blocks are becoming one of the most sought-after options in the hinterland right now,” Cassi adds. “Families want space, privacy, and the ability to keep loved ones close. If you’ve got a property that ticks those boxes, you may be sitting on more than you realise.”
Whether you’re thinking of selling, searching for the right block, or exploring dual living options, Cassi and the McGrath Beerwah team are here to help you take the next step.
